Telephone Book Recycling

It's that time of year when new phones books are received and outdated ones need to be recycled.  Contact your local solid waste management office to find out where you can recycle your old phone books.

Whether you're a business or a resident, your telephone book has an opportunity to be recycled.

Hampton Roads Businesses:

The Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) also offers local businesses, schools, residents and municipalities recycling programs.  Contact the SPSA Business Recycling offices at (757) 420-4700 for details on these and other services.  Or check out their website by clicking here.

Check the local yellow pages for others throughout the region offering business recycling services.

Hampton Roads Residents:

All residents of Gloucester, Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach and those residents in the SPSA* and VPPSA** curbside recycling programs are encouraged to recycle their telephone books by placing them in their curbside recycling containers or by taking them to a local drop off center.  For a complete list of drop off centers throughout Hampton Roads, click here.

If you know of any other organizations that offer recycling services not listed here, please contact us and we will be happy to post them on this regional website.

*SPSA member communities include those residents of Isle of Wight, Southampton Counties and the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Suffolk.

**VPPSA member communities include those residents of Essex, James City, King William, King and Queen, Mathews, Middlesex and York Counties, and the Cities of Hampton, Poquoson, and Williamsburg.
