Volunteers Needed for Hampton's Annual Litter Index August 5th

The Hampton Clean City Commission will be conducting its 10th annual Litter Index on Wednesday, August 5th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The index evaluates 55 areas throughout the city on the amount of visible litter. The scores received in each area influence the Hampton Clean City Commission's programs and educational efforts.

Participants meet at the Hampton Clean City Commission office.  Volunteers will be trained prior to the index, treated to lunch, and recognized by the Commission at its annual volunteer recognition event. All participants must carry a driver's license or other photo identification and be able ride in a van for 6 - 8 hours with approximately three breaks. Dress is casual. Participants must be 16 years or older to participate.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Hampton Litter Index, contact the Hampton Clean City Commission at 727-1130, hccc@hampton.gov, or sign up on-line.  Volunteers must pre-register to participate.
