Norfolk Offers New Recycling Services

Piles of paint cans in the garage? Outdated electronics gathering dust in the attic? With new, convenient collection for electronics and household hazardous waste now available for free, Norfolk residents can clear out the clutter.

HR CLEAN Annual Report Available

The HR CLEAN committee lead a successful conference on plastic bag litter. They also expanded their communication efforts to social networking sites. Read the 2009 HR CLEAN Annual Report to learn more about the committee's efforts and programs.

Chesapeake Clean & Green Poster Contest Winners

Fifteen City of Chesapeake students were recognized for their outstanding submissions in the Chesapeake Clean and Green Poster Contest. The contest is intended to encourage the viewer to start thinking and stop littering. View the pictures of the winning posters.


Phoebus Coffee House Awarded Hampton Clean Business Award

The Phoebus Coffee House received the Hampton Clean Business Award at the Virginia Peninsula Clean Business Forum in Yorktown on November 4th. The award was presented to the owner, Anne Doop, by Hampton Clean City Commission Board Member and Clean & Green Businesses Committee Chair John Golden. Household Hazardous Waste Collections

Hampton Roads residents may dispose of their household hazardous waste at their localities collection sites. The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority (VPPSA) will be holding several special collection events. Residents of Hampton, James City County, Poquoson, Williamsburg and York County may dispose of their household hazardous waste at VPPSA events. The City of Newport News has a separate collection day schedule. Southside residents may use the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) collection sites.
